Photojournalism - Wrestling Tournament

  1. I can't believe that you were worried about the quality of your wrestling shots. These are really nicely done. B&W is a good choice, it allows the viewer to focus on the body language, expression without distraction.
Photo #1 with the coach and wrestler tells a great story. I like the angle of the coach, like he's leaning around to see if the kid is okay. The wrestler's fingers in his hair illustrates how distraught he is. The blank wall behind does not distract in any way. Fabulous!
Photo #2 with the referee and wrestler also communicates well. Perhaps showing right down tot he wrestler's hands and referee's feet would have been nice. Remember to take the shot slightly larger than you think you want. You can always crop out but no add in:)
I love the pose in photo #3. The off centre cropping looks good, as we discussed. The only challenge here is that it is a bit fuzzy in focus. It would be nice to see very detail of his hair. His back is very bright. I don't know if the contrast could be adjusted. Despite this it is a pretty powerful image.

    1. Thank you! I'm disapointed the last image is so low quality as well, it didn't look that way at first on the computer.
